More than being unable to walk

Worldwide, millions of people are dependent on a wheelchair after having sustained a spinal cord injury, most often as the result of a traffic accident or a fall. The health problems they have to face are hard to imagine. They cannot walk, they do not have feeling in parts of their body and they may not have control of their bowl or bladder. Unfortunately, this list goes on and on.

Research provides hope

The good news is that highly qualified scientists around the globe are working on solutions. Their discoveries provide hope that it will be possible to improve the quality of life of people with spinal cord injuries, and bring about their recovery. In order to continue their work, scientists rely largely on donations.
